Occhio establishes a new culture of light.

Occhio is the German market leader in high-quality design lighting. The company, founded by the lighting designer Axel Meise in 1999, distributes innovative lighting systems with consistent, multi-award winning design, highest lighting quality and unique control options that can be configured individually, making users the lighting designers of their own living spaces. How did you come up with the idea for Occhio?

In the beginning, Occhio was an idea: a universal lighting system creating the perfect light for every situation and every building in residential and commercial settings.

What makes Occhio different from other brands in the industry?

I have always been convinced of the long-term success of Occhio. Because I knew that the market needed this product or this idea. We can control our products with an app as well as with gestures. We have thus completely set ourselves apart from our competition and we have used the opportunities of technological change to our advantage.

What is the goal for the next few years?

We want to bring the new culture of light to as many people as possible. And to grow from being the market leader in Germany into being the market leader in Europe, followed by a global roll-out.
