Occhio Teaser

Berlin, December 2021 – A brilliant opening: Occhio, the Munich-based brand for design luminaires, opened a spectacular flagship store on Kurfürstendamm in the very heart of Berlin on 17 December 2021, staking out its place as an international player in this major cosmopolitan city. The store embodies the three qualities that define Occhio as a brand and its smart lighting solutions as products: refined design, the very highest level of light quality and unforgettable ‚joy of use‘. The end result: a new culture of light.

Occhio is now welcoming private and professional customers to its new flagship store, located on Kurfürstendamm 45 and surrounded by a wide range of other prestigious international brands. The new store in Berlin lures customers into an interactive world filled with brands and experiences. It is a world where customers can see first-hand the entire range of the Munich-based company’s products displayed in this 350-square-metre store. Occhio brings its innovative functions and application options to life here and provides customers with the ultimate in light-planning expertise.

“The new Occhio store in Berlin represents a huge step forward in our growth strategy and will really help us to shape our brand,” said Axel Meise, the Founder and Designer of Occhio. “Our prominent location in this major city of the world clearly stakes out our position as an international player and strengthens Occhio’s position in the luxury segment.”

culture of light
Occhio employs its smart and holistic luminaire concepts to create a new culture of light. Occhio connects spaces and makes it possible to use light to design entire buildings of the highest quality by offering universal designs and quality light. The unforgettable ‚joy of use‘ produced by such intuitive control functions as »touchless control« and »color tune« take users to the pinnacle of light experiences.

Intelligent shop concept
The multifunctional showroom concept was carried out together with the renowned architectural firm 1zu33. Light and design are showcased here in a warm, cosy setting that enables customers to immerse themselves in Occhio’s brilliant culture of light.
When customers enter the store, they are welcomed by the »stage«, a structure shaped like a green island that is bathed in the light produced by an ensemble Mito sospeso luminaires. The result is an immediate and striking first impression created by the special light quality that only Occhio luminaires can create. The exclusive luminaires of the Edizione Lusso take over from there in a classic living situation. Illuminated product displays present a wide range of the company’s other luminaire and spotlight series. The »showcase« links to the ground floor and the first floor in both design and thematic terms, displaying exclusive elements of the iconic Edizione Lusso. Customers take a journey from the bottom to the top as they climb the stairs. The first floor serves as the home of the »style center«, where customers can explore the area of materials more deeply. Architects and planners can use the material samples and finishes to create some initial moodboards already in the store. In the basement, customers enter the »light lab«, an area filled with puristic light, to experience the effect of light and light quality in a room and interactively create their very own lighting moods.

“We turn Occhio’s culture of light into something visible in our Berlin store,” said Lukas Wagner, the manager of the Occhio store in Berlin.  “Our showroom also serves as a light expertise hub: Private customers, Occhio Partners, architects and planners have a chance here to experience our entire product range live and consult with our lighting experts. We are really looking forward to seeing familiar faces and getting to know new customers in our flagship store.”
