Munich/Vienna, 15.09.2021 – Innovative concepts and features are firmly anchored in Occhio’s DNA and will become even more relevant in the future – as unique added value for the user, as differentiation from the competition and, last but not least, as a powerful growth driver.
To take account of this development, Occhio has decided to acquire the company LR Innovation Lab in Vienna. LR Innovation Lab was founded by Lukas Pilat and Robert Kopka at the end of 2014 to turn a highly innovative idea into reality: To control and change the light in any direction starting from a luminaire – to practically ‘paint’ with light. The result was a luminaire with a corresponding app, which is marketed under the label ‘Luke Roberts’. In addition to developing and marketing this product, LR Innovation Lab and its 14-strong team have built up a high level of expertise in the field of digital technology. There has been close cooperation in this area since 2020.
“In addition to the significant expansion of capacities in software and electronics development, we are strengthening the brand’s innovative power with the acquisition of LR Innovation Lab: Together with the team in Vienna, we are driving forward the digitalization and connection of our product portfolio to smart home systems. We are working hard to inspire our customers with completely new ways of interacting with light and luminaires from Occhio,” says Axel Meise, founder and CEO of Occhio.
