Avantgarde expands digital offering with new “Avantgarde Performance” unit

Munich, April 13, 2021 – The three managing directors Tim Schmid, Lukas Schertel and Markus Schleger come from Dentsu Germany and bring a wealth of experience and an established network in the digital industry on board. The new Avantgarde Performance division will use the combined expertise of the management trio to consistently expand the Group’s digital business, giving the topic of experience more depth in this pillar as well.

Avantgarde intends to continue to grow with the consulting and implementation of digital performance campaigns and further expand the Group’s core business, marketing solutions for the experience economy, in the digital sector. In addition to programmatic advertising, paid search advertising and Google Shopping, Avantgarde Performance’s range of services also includes social media advertising, display and video advertising, eCommerce marketing, data modelling, analytics & customer insights, conversion rate optimization and consulting, including workshops.

The 52-year-old Tim Schmid can look back on over 20 years of experience in digital and performance marketing. Schmid was previously Managing Director at the performance agencies iProspect and explido, which are part of the Dentsu network, and was responsible for the Display & Programmatic Advertising, Search Advertising, Social Advertising, Affiliate Marketing and Sales & Key Account Management business units.

Lukas Schertel, 45, has also been in the digital industry since 2004 and, in addition to his experience in managing and developing employees, brings with him a sound and broad knowledge of digital marketing – particularly in the areas of programmatic advertising, social advertising, digital media & e-commerce advertising and SEA.

The 36-year-old Markus Schleger will take over the areas of Digital Operations & Ad Tech in the management team. He also has over ten years of experience in the industry and has previously led teams in the Dentsu Digital Media units in Augsburg and Munich.
