With this acquisition, the group of companies, which specializes in BrandRetail Experiences, would like to further supplement its portfolio of services in the area of sustainability and digitization for its customers in a meaningful way.
Stuttgart, August 4, 2022 – Soon, a non-financial sustainability reporting obligation is mandatory. The effects of all business activities on the environment and human rights as well as social standards are to be documented transparently in the future in order to prevent greenwashing. With the acquisition of a majority stake in Spenoki, LIGANOVA Group, specializing in the development and implementation of seamless physical & digital brand, product and service experiences, is now expanding its expertise in the growth area of sustainability.
The Green Campaign Cycle® service portfolio established by LIGANOVA in 2020 specializes in sustainability solutions in retail. Retail brands that want to meet future requirements participate in the 360° solution: Sustainability consulting, design, production and reporting. In doing so, the cloud-based software solution developed by Spenoki, data-based and transparent, will break down all implemented activities and their sustainability impact. Retail measures are thus measurable, optimizable and verifiable and summarized in the report.
Timo Schönauer, CEO LIGANOVA Group: “Sustainable Marketing has become one of the most important topics for leading global brands. With the acquisition of Spenoki, we are expanding LIGANOVA Group’s service promise in this segment.”
Torsten Dietz, Managing Director LIGANOVA and Head of Sustainability Development added: “In the future, we will offer our customers software-based CO2 measurements of their marketing campaigns in addition to consulting, optimization and communication. This allows us to make sustainability management even more efficient as part of the Green Campaign Cycle®.”
In order to expand its sustainability offering in the field of ESG management and reporting, the agency group acquired a majority stake in Spenoki. The Munich-based start-up has set itself the task of offering its German and European customers simple and efficient solutions for their sustainability management. Spenoki founders Markus Adler, 24 (Growth) and Niklas Schönstein, 23 (Product) came up with the idea for the cloud-based product after piloting a digital impact platform and realizing how important it is to make the impact of a company measurable. The sustainability reporting processes were then analyzed with various pilot customers: “During the weeks of collecting and analyzing the data, we realized that this process could be made much easier and more user-friendly using technology,” Adler said. “And out of that, Spenoki was eventually born.” With Till Kundrun, 29 (Operations), the two have found their third co-founder and together form the management team.
In order to further strengthen growth in the area of sustainability, as well as Liganova and Spenoki itself, Spenoki will be repositioned to the new brand Code Gaia later this year.
LIGANOVA Group focuses on sustainability and phygital brand experiences. In addition to the recent acquisition of Spenoki, the growing group of companies includes the eponymous LIGANOVA GmbH as well as the subsidiaries LIGADIGITAL, LIGAPRODUCTION and the digital experience agency HERREN DER SCHÖPFUNG. The company is headquartered in Stuttgart, with additional locations in Berlin, Frankfurt, Amsterdam and Chicago.
